- Abercrombie and Fitch known for the sexualisation of their brand in the past due to former CEO Mike Jeffries.
- Stores known for having shirtless models around the store and only typically attractive people as employees.
- A 2006 interview with then CEO Mike Jeffries showed he only wanted a certain type of person wearing Abercrombie and Fitch - "we go after the cool kids...a lot of people don't belong (in our clothes), and they can't belong. Are we exclusionary? Absolutely."
- Also in the interview explained how they wouldn't stock above a size 10.
- No plus size models on the website.
- Change.org began a petition to get Abercrombie and Fitch to make plus sizes.



- Making changes in recent years to be more diverse
- Now CEO Fran Horowitz says - "we are committed to embracing diversity and inclusion at Abercrombie and Fitch Co. creating an inclusive atmosphere and experience for our customers and associates, across our global organization, is a top priority for our brands."
- Launched initiatives like "I Am A&f" to stress that anyone and everyone is welcomed in the culture of Abercrombie and Fitch which is a stark difference to the culture of the brand in the late 1990s and early 2000s with CEO Mike Jeffries.
