Instagram Survey

I created some questions to find out what people thought about Abercrombie & Fitch and asked them on my Instagram.

The questions included:

1. Have you shopped at Abercrombie & Fitch before? (Y/N?)
2. Do you shop at Abercrombie & Fitch now? (Y/N?)
3. Do you think Abercrombie & Fitch have a good reputation? (Y/N?)
4. Do you think Abercrombie & Fitch are relevant in fashion today? (Y/N?)
5. Do you think Abercrombie & Fitch products are fairly priced or overpriced? (Fair/Over?)
6. Do you think Abercrombie & Fitch products are good quality? (Y/N?)
7. What words would you use to describe Abercrombie and Fitch?

> Everyone who answered the questions are from the UK.
> The age range for people answered the questions varied from 14-50, with the majority of people being between 18 and 20.
> The people who answered the questions were primarily female.

1.

> Of the 34 people who answered the first question, 25 of them have never shopped at Abercrombie & Fitch before suggesting that A&F don't have much of a presence in the UK market.

2.

> For the second question 100% of people answered that they don't shop at Abercrombie & Fitch now, suggesting that it is not as popular in 2019 as it used to be.

3.

> There was more of a balance in answers for question 3. The majority of people thought that A&F don't have a good reputation but still a large portion of people thought that they do. Personally I think this is because people won't have heard about the past controversies that A&F have had, for example, the statements former CEO Mike Jeffries has said as the majority of these took place when the largest group of people who answered the questions were only around 6 years old.

4.

> For question 4 72% of people answered that they don't think Abercrombie & Fitch are relevant in fashion today suggesting that the brand is becoming outdated and needs to change to stay relevant to compete.

5.

> For question 5, 26 people voted that A&F products are overpriced and only 5 people voted that they are fairly priced. I think this will be due to the fact that the majority of people who answered the questions are students and so most likely wouldn't be able to afford more premium brands such as Abercrombie and Fitch. However older people with more disposable income also answered that they think the products are overpriced, therefore this suggests that people don't think Abercrombie & Fitch products are worth paying a higher price for and so A&F could readjust their prices to increase demand and sales.

6.

> Even though the majority of people who answered think that the products are overpriced, 77% of people think that A&F products are good quality suggesting that Abercrombie and Fitch products have a lot of added value and therefore justifies the higher prices.

7.

Answers to question 7 included:

> Outdated
> Plain
> High-end
> Limited, not varied in size, but really stylish.
> Clothes are well designed.
> Extremely controversial.
> American college nonsense.

> Most of the answers were a negative response suggesting that Abercrombie and Fitch need to continue to rebrand to appeal to new markets as a popular view tends to be that they are outdated and have a tarnished reputation.
